I got 4 sps frags yesterday and all looked good, put them tank after dip and they had good polyp extensions within a few hours. This morning i noticed the new carolina reaper may have rtn. The tip was completely white. 3 hours later it went down more and can see it peeling off. The frag is pretty chunky multi branch so I could clip off the white dead part, or leave it alone? Never had rtn on a new frag. Other 3 are doing fine.

Heres a pic with lights off

More pics, front and side. Polyps look good on other areas, and interestingly theres still a few polyps on the white area (currently)

Wont be easy to snip off the white part.

Just saw your post, how is it doing today?
How are your other 3 sps frags?
you should share your parameters. Ca,alk, mag, etc
Bumping so others can see

Two of the 4 new frags went to rtn. I’ve gotten about 20 frags this year and this is the first I ever had rtn issue. Maybe shipment issue, not sure. Packaging look fine but it is colder in morning so maybe something happen. I actually had one shipment a few months ago get delayed by a full day and all the frags made it through too.

I threw out the WWC wow acro as it wasnt savable, and snipped a 1/2” piece to try save to make a new tiny TSA carolina reaper frag. Sucks but not sure what happen.

Other two frag seems to be unaffected.

I think it's always worth a try to save one since there's nothing to loose.

This was August of last year. I cut it off at the plug and it started growing back.

A month or two ago it started looking poorly so I popped the plug and moved it into my acro tank.

you obviously can save dying frags from your pic of your sps saved. Nice!
I agree, SPS frag below 65 degree F. in shipping, I had not much success with either.
