From new methods in tank care to new innovations in the way we run our home reefs, it feels like the reefing world is constantly changing. There is no denying that some of the advancements in knowledge and technology are making reef-life easier and more more convenient, but maybe convenience isnt everything? Let's discuss it!

For me it depends on how things are going!

If I have good growth and good color then I'll stick to what I'm doing. If I am lacking in any one of those areas then I will consider trying other things.

For my new tank I have gone with a totally new method....well for me...The no water change bacteria method
1. skim heavy
2. adding all for reef to maintain constant alk and calcium
3. large snail cuc
4. bacteria(microbacter clean) once a week
5. check No3 and Po4 often- dont want them to bottom out
6. add trace elements as needed per icp
