I dipped it i Coral in revive and blew off all, if not most of then brown jelly. It looks clean but doesn’t look like the coral is reviving.

Increase your AFR to get calcium up to between 420-450. Your alkalinity will rise also, so monitor that as well. 8.5 to 9 is solid for a growing reef. Magnesium should fall in line at 1350 or better when you increase your dosage. If your still a bit out of balance, add calcium and magnesium supplements as needed.

I hope you didn’t blow it out into the tank to get dispersed all around.

Did you suck it out and put it in a cup or down a drain ?

That would have been a disaster move lol. I isolated it in a container with the revive blew off all the brown jelly then dipped/rinsed it in a clean salt water container and then back into the tank.

You know my apex has been showing salinity swings but it usually hovers around 1.024-1.025
It would be something more like .004 swing, like 1.025-1.028. It would come from something like adding rock or equipment to the tank and instead of you having to top of the rock would increase the volume and reduce the need for top off, etc. etc… or something like your top off being in large amounts at a time, or a small drip leak or creep area.

Once you see the skeleton like that, it is normally game over. Fingers crossed it recovers for you though

You have high chance to save it if you can get a new dip product called coral infection elimination from Joker Corals.

Every torch owner should have this on hand. It just was released to market but has been gaining popularity in Asia

I have no affiliation. I was chosen as a beta tester for in Q4 last year for unbiased testing and feedback. I have saved numerous torches in your condition

And

This happened last week on another torch. This Torch was fine and open on Saturday and on Tuesday looked like crap.

I dipped in coral infection elimination product:

1 day after that (total 72 hours after dip)

You might not get it in time but you should have this on hand

I did not mention this earlier because I did not think it was coming to market until late February but just saw they released it early and it’s available now. I didn’t see the point in announcing vaporware that could be delayed or whatever. But since it’s available….yes it works and yes I recommend it.

That first torch I posted in this post had noticeable improvement in 48 hours, continued to improve and had full recovery in 3 weeks

There appears to be a purple torch coral behind that one that also doesn’t look great either.

How long have you had these torches? Looks like a more systemic problem.

Just purchased some of this to have on hand based on your recommendation and reading through the post. Another tool for the arsenal, hopefully won’t need to use it!!

Awesome! That’s quite the recovery there. I’m curious if this would have worked on some unknown ailment that wiped out all my rhodactis mushrooms. From cheapies up to all my bounce collection all slowly bleached and shriveled. It was awful to watch slowly happen. Tried cipro/salt dips/peroxide dips. Nothing helped one by one over months lost em all. Read every post on multiple forums of similar issues and no one really found a solution. Maybe this could have helped

I don’t know but it’s possible. It works in different ways than antibiotics and other dips.

Yumas and Ricordias all fine. Just rhodactis slowly spew out zoo, bleach, and shrivel. No idea.
There are coral specific pathogens.

I know of someone who had a Cynarina pathogen. I believe my tank has a Acanthophyllia specific one.

And now, I have bjd in the system affecting random torch every few weeks. Since getting this product, I’ve saved every torch it’s jumped to.

I’ve treated my 75g tank once with the product. But full tank treatment takes several repeat doses. I was given a sample size bottle and used it on random torches and then one full tank treatment. I don’t have enough to do the full treatment protocol. Now that it’s available for sale I am buying the full size bottle.
