Blue Hippo have to be my favorite! I have two that are partners in crime. They remind me of puppies, just underwater. The smaller will actually play with my Sunburst Anthias. Like full blown begging to fetch a stick playing with the Sunburst. It’s pretty awesome. The sunburst is normally just like “uhhh, tf you want dude?” but the blue tang loves it. They also hide and sleep in neat places. Both of my blues sleep in the same rock nook up against each other.

Purple Tangs, Sohal Tangs, Clown Tangs, Achilles Tangs, Powder Blue Tangs, and Blue Tangs are my all-time favorites in terms of looks. But as far as ones I would actually keep in a reef tank, the list narrows down to Purple Tangs, Powder Blues, and Blue Tangs. Clown Tangs and Sohal Tangs are incredibly impressive, but I worry a lot about aggression, with a fish so large, of a kind known for their domineering attitudes.

Pretty uncommon in the hobby due to their max size (20” ish) but I saw these in a shark lagoon at a public aquarium when I was little and fell in love

And.... Mata!!!! Go big or go home!!!! I had one of these years ago! HE OUT GREW MY 300! Hahaha. He now takes up residence in a 3000 gallon lagoon! Mata tangs will always hold a place dear to my heart and someday I will keep one permanently!!! All this said, a Hawaiian Orange Shoulder is and probably will always be my all time favorite!
