Wow thats not even safe to drink is it? Im in Dayton , Oh and were at 300. We dont drink it, neither do our pets.
Of course it's safe to drink. Do I drink it? No. Why? Because it smells like pool water to me. We have water delivered to our home for drinking.

Is this a well or city water? Any whole home filtration involved?
City well. They currently pull from 3 but 4th is coming online which could change things. Ironically most of our TDS is salt.

I know most of you know this but it drives me nuts that people obsess over TDS. TDS really means nothing. 4ppm TDS could easily be worse that 500TDS. Half the bottled water people pay for is 500+TDS.
My tds that tend to get through, if neglected, is silicates. Not concerned about that. I would love for my fillers to not need as much attention though. I'm considering a whole home system

— RO pressure = 75 PSI (w/booster pump)
Tap water = 355 ppm TDS
— Waste water = 545 ppm TDS
— After RO membrane = 5 TDS inline meter, 6 TDS handheld
— Final output = 0 ppm TDS

Older sample before booster pump:
— RO pressure = 48 PSI
Tap water = 475 ppm TDS
— Waste water = 660 ppm TDS
— After RO membrane = 10-12 ppm TDS
— Final output = 0 ppm TDS

This is a good reminder for all who are on public water drinking supplies to look at their municipalities drinking water reports. In the US public drinking water suppliers are required to test their water going out to consumers. Depending on the region you are in your tds could be higher or lower but that is not a indicator that your water is bad or good. Tds is a indicator that something is in your water but that could be anything. For drinking water purposes you should be concerned about MCL levels (Maximum contaminant level). https://www.epa.gov/ground-water-and-drinking-water/national-primary-drinking-water-regulations
