Hey!

I was looking at the mounts for the XR15/30 and the hanging kits. Up here in Canada, that kit is $82.50 with tax... mmm nope! The RMS I also didnt think would work with my rimless biocube due to the reach past the AIO. I had seen from Sydney Reefing the extruded aluminum light mount and was thinking something small like that would be great! Unfortunately, 1010 sticks up here are still $30-40 for a 4 pack on amazon, and i really don't need that kind of strength for a 3.5lb light, nor the extra pieces. I am fortunate enough to own a Bambu P1S, and designed a 200 mil 1010 stock, the premade mounts for 1010 I found from another creator (Thanks Fushi!https://www.printables.com/model/1010506-ecotech-radion-xr30-1010-aluminum-extrusion-light), and I designed up some eyelet hooks to hang all of this. Ill add some toggles in the ceiling and some thin wire rope, and will have a DIY hanging kit with the ability to mount accessories or other lights for probably under $20 in material.

As expected, I could print a longer 1010 stock and setup a XR30 with minimal extra. The mounts Fushi made would also be fine for multi-light mounting on a aluminum stock of 1010.

ANYWAYS... pictures! Picking up my light tomorrow and will test. accessories are printed with 100% infill, the 1010 stock is 50%.

Ill load test the hanging mounts to see what they can handle. Everything is in PLA at the moment, and if it works i may swap to PETG if I notice any sag. For the first week or two Ill run some glass over the tank incase my Radion decides to become a Radi-in...

Quick update now that I have a new to me XR15 G5. Found a simple hanging kit with adjustable hooks like the Ecotech kit for $12. Once its hanging up ill add some final photos. I am going to add a safety wire from one of the screws to the cables, just in case something printed breaks and my light doesn't go for a swim.

And with the shade testing/adding it to my app

Final update!

The hanging kit showed up today and was perfect, nearly identical to the radion system. I did need to print my hanger eyelets off-center a 1/4" as the radion isn't balanced, and the ecotech kit can adjust for this. Ill do a little cleanup, but very happy with the results. I think I'll print some TPU end caps and call it done!

For power, I always run my line up through the ceiling, hate the look of wires coming down the back of the wall.

I think down the road I will look at printing a saddle set of reefbrite or AI bars for spread if ever needed. Now time to buy some SPS frags :D
