These sponge looking things pictured have randomly popped up in my tank. They're mostly in the overflow and I'm guessing just a byproduct of too many nutrients? I'm hoping someone with much more experience and knowledge can tell me what I'm looking at.

Thanks All!

They are called pineapple sponge and are filter feeders. Usually found in darker areas of a tank along with spirorbid worms.

I have the same issue. Hope u found the cure for it since it was 2 years ago. And help me get red of it
There ended up not really being a cure. As filter feeders they just kind of go with the nutrients. Control nutrients control them.
