The stock optics are designed to be ran lower anyways so would work out perfect.
I would run a large fixture up high, suspended over nearly the front pane of glass on the tank and angled in to the tank. Would you keep the stock lenses or swap them?

I just put the 35 model over my new 40" 75 gallon SPS tank-to-be because it fits perfect and I was impressed with the Photons at my local store. I have not played with the light too much yet because my tank has just fish so far, but there are a couple issues.

Mainly the app isn't up to date. The only other LED fixture/ app I have experience with is the new Orphek Natura over my other tank. The ReefBreeder app is pre-historic compared to the Orphek. I spoke to Liam at ReefBreeders and he complained that " app development is so expensive" and said they were "working on it and please be patient". Then I read in another post on this forum that they are thinking about charging for the full use of their app, though I can't imagine any company would have the nerve to do that.

The other issue is the moonlight, it is way way too bright even at the minimum setting. Liam said they are aware of it and again "working on it". Timeliness unknown. Maybe we should all push a little.

This would not light the rear of the corals

Photon and Meridian are designs to go center tank and evenly light front to back, left to right. You can add the bars and angle in if you need

I added a bar for acros on front glass shelves

I just want slide bars for my channels and for it to display the total wattage . Then i know i can tweak my spectrum and still run the 90 watts or whatever my last fixture was at. I know there is a lot more to it , but hopefully they get it dialed in

I am hoping the app gets revised, but the Meridian still functions under the photon settings. The color of the channels does not match.

Nice tank. Thanks for the pics. My post was a bit misleading because 400 watt halides are the primary light over the center of my tank. The meridian would be purely an added light to supplement the metal halide. I also have light bars from quanta and Orphek.

This^^^ curious to know if and when they’ll be charging to use the app to control the light. I’m in the market for lights and honed in on a reefbreeders, but not if the fixture will be held ransom for monthly charges to control it.

Well that changes things and makes my post unnecessary haha
It would do great in the way you intended
