I went with the caribsea Hawaiian black sand. It's actually more like an aquarium gravel vs a sand. Will the snails and or gobys that sift Burrow in sand be ok in it? Or avoid them?

Yeah I like the look. I would have preferred if it were finer though. I would have done Fiji pink if I did it all over again.Just so happens I have this sand in a Nano (will never do again), but I have a Neon Gody and he does turn over a small portion. Nassarius would probably be fine, as would a fighting Conch. My Astraea do an ok job. I wouldn't put a sand sifting Goby in, the black sand is too rough and large.
Once my other tank is cycled I am changing out the black sand.
Unbeknownst to me the Hawaiian black sand does contain some metals. I discovered this after finding them stuck to the magnet of my wave maker. If you do a little research you will find others reported similar findings.Yeah I like the look. I would have preferred if it were finer though. I would have done Fiji pink if I did it all over again.
