sounds like home depot experiences... even though you're 100% right with that example... mine is walk into home depot for "one drill bit" and walk out with $300 worth of items for house stuff and whatever else came to mind.

It's kids, we all done things like that. People that say they didn't, just don't remember the trouble we got into. Definitely a learning and teaching experience for them.

Here's a story for you, I was cleaning my tank early on, scraping GHA from the back side and sucking it out with a hose running to the sump filter sock. Had a clamp so it wouldn't fall out.

I'm reaching behind the tank, can't see the front, scraping away, when I hear a giggle. My brain didn't register anything sinister, after 7 kids, you would think I could tell the difference.

Then giggles, laughing, and then jumping with a sploosh sploosh, splash.

Ava pulled the hose out and I lost probably 5 gallons or more on the carpet. It was dripping into the basement.

Long night with a shop vac, fans, and a carpet cleaner....

7 kids and you're alive to tell the tale, impressive man.... also yeah. My son def has the first child syndrome - rule follower, very well behaved... its my daughter where I think i'm going to be in trouble.

So my salinity was almost 1.030 today. Lowered it last night and again this am. I guess I really couldn't rely on my old refractometer. Glad I got a new one. Just need to check it dummy! No wonder alk nit and phos all out of wack

youre not the first one... and not the last to have that its one reason why I dont mind living in the past with this:

Ran into that issue beginning of the month. I had been checking my refractometer with the calibration fluid. Well either it was always wrong or the just the last bit. Because when I picked up new bottle, I found out.my tank was sitting at 50 ppm. So yeah no wonder thing didn't want to grow. Finally got it back down to proper levels. But yeah, now I've got the refractometer and the tropic Marine hydrometer.

Lol...my refractometer stays on point as long as its calibrated. Just as accurate as hydrometer and icp
