Thats wild that so many of us had a tin crash. Did you ever identify root cause? I either forget or missed it. Rob had rusty butt magnets. Mine was fuge light and/or amazon vinyl tubing.
No. I think it was from the Stax rock I used. This is all cut with a band saw most likely which may have left some sort of residue (purely speculation). Pulled all magnets, replaced all in tank pumps, heaters, and anything else that wasn't nailed down. No rust to be found. Really no idea but it has cleared with metalwork and cuprisorb.

Sent in an ICP a couple weeks back and will see what happens.

Petco is getting them from Biota. Every Biota YT I have seen has been near see through.

Has anyone seen what they look like when they get bigger? Does the yellow become more vibrant?
Dude! I was thinking the same thing. I even asked the fish guy at my Petco if they were getting them from Quality Marine, he said no, it was somewhere else. Said it wasn't SDC either. The two flame angels they had were tiny, but look well feed and were chasing pellets. I really do assume they are from Biota's breeding.

I've read they do, but I have no personal experience with them.

At $150 at least the price is dropping on them.

Did you want a flame angel? My Petco has two.
@Thuan let me know if you did want a flame angel, I can buy the other one and run it through quarantine with the rest of the fish. I'm going to start raising copper today, everyone is eating and QT tank is stable. It will be 2 weeks full copper and two weeks prazi starting next weekend (since I'm raising copper slowly all this week, I won't hit therapeutic til next weekend).

I had a YT from Biota and it started out translucent but got nice and yellow once it was about 2-1/2” long.

Cuprisorb didnt do anything for tin for me that i was able to measure. Bassically the quantity of water changed mathed out to the before/afters of the tin. I almost hate resolving an problem without nailing down root cause as much as the problem itself.

Glad youre on the mend and on a full comeback

Can they be with yellow tang
Are they going in together without another Zebrasoma in the tank? If so you may be fine. I was able to get 3 Zebrasoma in at the same time without too much aggression but they were all small at the time and no other resident tangs.

If planning to add to the tank with the PT, make sure the new ones are either much larger or much smaller that the resident PT and you might have a chance. This is the 180 correct?

I would much rather have found a rusty magnet than left guessing.
