So the last 3 weeks I’ve been splitting my kz 4 part element/color dosing into half/half during the week. On the larger tank especially it seems to be having positive results. Also I’ve increased my B-Ionic 2 part by a couple ml this past week and it seems like the corals are responding well. Slowed down on Calcium a bit as it’s been hovering in the mid 400s.

I want to add this (kz 4-part) to my KZ cocktail of: zeoBak, Coral Snow, Vitalizer, zeoStart, FWS, Sponge Power....
But, I'm not sure it will help much since my alk/cal consumption is low and I've been doing 25% water changes every 2-weeks which also replenishes those elements. So I'm not sure it will help me much.

The home kits are apparantly smashing icp tests..lol

yeah that doesn't surprise me much, don't get me started on hobbiest level icp tests. I wouldn't trust them, sure the equipment is probably decent but what is the qa/qc and how qualified are the technicians for that price point, who certifies the labs, how often are they calibrated or checked with blanks. An icp test is only as good as the maintenance, qa/qc, and people running them, and for how cheap the tests are i have a hard time believing that any of those three things are very good.

Sorry i'm a very skeptical person by nature and in my job i review a lot of lab results, and they come with pages and pages of qa/qc and calibration data and the labs are certified by our lab people or possibly some other organization as well. I don't know all of the details because that not really my thing (i'm a geologist not a chemist), and know these tests that we require with general water quality parameters and common contaminants something like 70-80 parameters are over $1000 each, usually

not that i wouldn't get on of these ICP tests if i was really at my wits end because its got to be better than nothing, but i wouldn't put a lot of stock in the exact results or assume they are extremely accurate.

Never used it myself and heard mixed reviews. I think it’s used to just get general parameters.
