So I recently upgraded to an overflow system and worked out all the plumbing kinks. I settled for a 10 gallon aquarium sump. I planned to use the fijicube baffles but when it came down it, I just let the sump be the one big ten gallon aquarium.
Then I traded some stuff for an old water box sump. 18" wide and 23.5" long and 12" deep.
Problem is, my stand isn't that deep itself.
With the front cabinet doors being 3/4" or so that means the sump will hang off the bottom board of my sump by about 2 1/2". I don't mind this but wanted to know if that's risky or not.
I have been thinking of ways to raise it up so in case there was a spill, air could get under there to help dry it out.
What would you do? Just get a board 18x
23 and lay it on that? I don't mind having it out further from the wall a bit as I plan on using the sump anyways.
Is there an alternate where strips of wood can be used? Like, a long the left and right sides only, or does there need to be full support across the whole sump?
