tank leak

so i have a tank (not a red sea) and the seem started to leak in the sump. the problem is there is no way to get the sump out of the stand. when we originally set up the tank we took off a support to fit the sump in while the tank was empty . . . now we need to get it out and we cannot get it out without draining the full tank and moving everything to a temp place. my parents decided since i moved out last july. they don't want to go though the effort, and are worried about it happening again with the main tank though. and that they would just dismantle the tank. after some sad looks and some discussion we decided to set up a tank in my place and then transfer everyone into it by getting most of the water rock and a little sand from the old tank. the issue is now where do i get a 100+ gallon tank and stand in Southern California last minute my parents do not want to go used as they are concerned about seems? does anyone know a store in the OC that stocks full tank stand and sump for 100g+ tanks?

Break up the sump to get it out. Replace with one you can fit without removing the brace.

Guessing you don’t have an open back to put the sump through? If you do and are moving the tank anyways, you could put a new one in there but go with thick acrylic so it never leaks and lasts for eternity.

I’m confused why you need a new tank if you are moving the tank to your house. It sounds like you need a new sump?

If parents want something at their place that will never leak then shell out the cash for a custom 1/2 inch acrylic tank. Your display can run without a sump until you replace it.

You could even take it a step further and get leak detectors.

On my custom tank/stand. I had them put doors on the side in addition to the front. So I can always get the sump out easily.
