When I built my IM tank stand, I put the rail with the NUVO logo on the bottom instead of the top, so it is upside down. I didn’t notice until the tank was filled.
I’m relieved that it was only the logo and not the plumbing.

I did this during my tank build but I caught it just in time to make the correct change. So I feel you pain…

My reef hits 3 years next week and I'm still just as good at killing or nearly killing corals now as I was when I first started.

Oh I sympathize with you on this one. Just when you think you can keep them alive…you don’t.! And it’s back to the LFS for more coral.! What’s the definition of insanity?

Whoever did the electrical in my house was a moron.
My bedroom tv's outlet is on the same breaker as my upstairs bathroom as well as my laundry room and 55g (both are downstairs 2 levels. So when my ATO kicks on while I'm drying my hair, the breaker blows and I lose all power to the tank.

I thought I was the only one with crappy wiring to my fish room. I have an appointment next week with an electrician to fix my wife’s hairdryer literally turning off random things all over the house….including my reef tank. It’s one of the most annoying things about my reef room. A 2025 resolution that my wife invoked is to get this fixed. On this we both agreed was a priority…so reefing automation system is now on back burner.

Sometimes - when nobody is looking...

...I feed the green brittle serpent start in the sump bacon while we practice reciting bacon haikus to each other

Golden strips of dawn,
Crisp edges whispering joy—
Morning's melody.

Bacon in my tentacle,
No words can truly capture
Heaven wrapped in fat.

Smoke rises, flavors

If the warden happens to catch me and asks "Hey who are you talking to???"

I say "You must be losing it, I am not talking to anybody"

Then the serpent star and I have a good laugh and eat more bacon.

Heard that! I'm on the tail end of a wicked cold + stomach flu at the moment, so it's nice feeling like a human again.

Wishing you a recovery, looking forward to seeing you back in the swing of things rather than having to play "dad" all of the time.
