Yeah, but the maintenance and repairs will kill you. Just took my BMW in for oil change and 50k maintenance and ended paying for a water pump… pump alone was $1100. By the time I got out of their it was over $1800.

Good old German vehicle tax. My 2005 Audi was in for new key fobs when the dealer discovered over $9000.00 in needed maintenance...hahaha I drove it without problems thousands of miles since. They quoted over $200.00 for new window wiper blades. Less than $30.00 bucks at any auto parts store. Air cabin filters and other items ridiculously over priced and the labor cost laughable.

Beware of the dealer service department folks.

I am the furthest thing from a yuppie that you could ever imagine.

Nah, Benz is Benz. BMW gets renamed Bends. That's what the grill guards/ bull bars on the front of our trucks are for.

Yeah, I know the dealerships charge more. Even though they are charging more this dealership is honest about what wrong with it so I trust them in that respect. Many of them aren’t very honest. My husband has been taking his BMW to a different place that was recommended by a friend and they are a little cheaper but not by much. I am going to start taking mine there too. We already stopped getting tires from the dealership.

A true story:
Many years ago I worked at an auto parts store as a delivery girl to the shops in town. This one place would order black spray paint a lot. Few months later a started dating one of those mechanics and he told me they were told by the owner to take a part off and spray paint it so it looked like new and charged the customer for new parts. And if the customer asked to see old one they had some in back to show them.
Sometimes this shop would return parts saying customer decided not to repair it.
But after I told the guys I worked with what this shop was doing, then they started checking the returns and sure enough they were returning the old broken parts and spray painted them to like new ones. They figured this out because the actual new part was a flat black and they were using a glossy black. Gotta be careful with who you deal with.

The question was answered. That trope is not about Mercedes drivers but rather BMWs, which I am not. It has turn signals, and I use them. Now, my Asian wife on the other hand is an entirely different story.
