Good morning friends! Hope you're all having a wonderful start to your morning - get good and caffeinated, but also stay hydrated.

I am looking for personal advice, mostly because I'm a terrible shopper... I need to purchase a white elephant gift with a budget of $50... Lets hear your best ideas (non-reef related).

I guess that'll surely help with a more fun installation, and lazier utilization of @Fish Styx recommendation....
They are so versatile you can do all kinds of fun things with them. If you really want to kick it up a notch throw in some ratchet straps too.

Funnily enough, we had a Friendsmas this past weekend with a $25 white elephant gift exchange, the requirements were you had to buy the gift at a gas station, rest stop, or gift shop at a tourist attraction.

I bought ratchet straps at a gas station.

Despite the haze, she's still looking pretty though!

It's actually for my family. We're all fortunate enough to be in strong financial positions, so gift exchanges always end up in people buying unnecessary garbage for each other that collects dust before making it's way to the donation pile. We've opted to do a white elephant with a $50 budget for the last few years so everyone only ends up with 1 piece of garbage, instead of a pile of it.

The only real rule is no gift cards, if I have some leftover budget I toss some lotto scratchers into the bag.
We do a draw names for my family for the same reason. Also because one of us (me) is poor and I think people were getting frustrated with the disparity in quality of gift.

Games are good. Wife and I have liked escape room type.

That is so cool!
Sooo tempting to just grab a baby convict in the tide pools (totally catchable). Size of your thumb. Wonder if there are any tang police at LAX...

Please don't put a tang in your office tank.

How’s the yellow passion? It’s got my attention on cb’s website
It was gorgeous. Sadly my husbandry fell off with my mental health this summer, and I lost a bunch of frags as a result. Unfortunately, the yellow passion and SCOP were among the casualties.

If you don't have a SCOP, I would reccomend it over the yellow. Truly, it's a stunning piece. Otherwise, pull the trigger on the yellow- it is only slightly less attractive. You won't be disappointed.

Also, welcome aboard, Heathen!

Controversial opinion incoming. Sorry

Red - tangs that massively surpassed my expectations and looked so much more beautiful then I'd seen before when I was in Hawaii.

Green - tangs I used to like but were disappointingly dull in person when diving

Whew... the tank is pristine. I have a club member coming by tomorrow to give a stay of execution to some of the zoas. I don't get many visitors and am so paranoid about being judged. lol. Had to make sure the system was presentable.

While I was working in the tank today I had some more whoopsie frags, so I figured I'd mount them and give them to my guest tomorrow; and since I was already fragging, I cut a few more.

Sorry… before Hawaii the convict was in the small list of tangs I thought I liked the look of.
Now I have a big list of tangs I like but the convict is no longer on it. They looked underweight and pale in Hawaii. While every other tang was fat and stunning
