I’m just not sure which way to go with CUC. Interested in opinions if anyone has any?
Probably not the best but I tend to go heavy on Trochus and Cerith with a few Nerites and Astreas. for the glass/rocks. A couple of Conches and a bunch of Nassarius for sand bed.

Is that a wrasse with the two black lines? If so, what kind?
That is the Cebu version of the Lubbock’s Fairy Wrasse.

There another version from Indonesia that is somehow the same species but looks totally different. That one is also known as a Multi-Colored Fairy Wrasse.

Trochus and Cerith are good ideas. Conches have not worked out in this tank at all. They lived quite a while but did nothing for days at a time. Literally in the same place, sometimes buried, sometimes not, all the time. Very frustrating.

Let's see how it is when it gets there! Maybe try mixing some in tank water and hold a magnet to see if it draws it magnetic particles for comparison with AF Life Source?
Will do. It will be interesting to find out if there’s anything magnetic in it.

That is a beautiful wrasse! How is it with other fish?

Honestly it’s turned into a bit of a bully lately to my two yellow wrasses. It never bothers any other fish. I get the feeling that once the larger yellow wrasse outgrows him the bullying will stop. It’s really just chasing, no actual damage being done. I feel like this version is seen less than the other one. If I’m remembering correctly I think the R2R member I Can’t Think has both variants in the same tank. I’ve thought about doing that myself but I’ve been holding back because I’m worried about aggression in light of how the current one has been chasing the yellows. Plus I want a Pintail more and maybe another Orangeback, I lost one to old age a while back. Ironically, the Orangeback that I had was supposed to be an Indonesian Lubbock’s but the LFS employee pulled the wrong fish out of the tank and I didn’t notice until I got home. Paid $30 for a $90 fish due to his mistake. I live an hour away from that LFS so it wasn’t going back at that point.

Yes, that's the less common one, and I think Aaron (i cant think) had both, but maybe not anymore. Lubbocks are known to be assertive, but generally peaceful. Not sure why it doesn't like the yellows, but yes, I'd be more worried about other fairies, at least until the Cebu isn't top of the pecking order. Always a bit of the unknown when introducing new wrasses.

I made an order with Florida Pets for two cups of their Golden Live Sand and two cups of their Live Mineral Mud last weekend.
It was picked up by FedEx on 2/18 and was supposed to be delivered on 2/20. Now FedEx is claiming bad weather in Memphis so my live sand and mud is sitting around somewhere in Orlando FL. Who knows when it will arrive. I reached out to Florida Pets today and they seem to feel the delay won’t negatively affect their products because the weather is good in Florida so it’s ok for storage of the mud and sand. I’m skeptical that it will still be any good by the time it eventually shows up. FedEx of course will not compensate me because this is weather related. It’s not Florida Pets fault either but I will admit I’m feeling kind of screwed over by this situation. I was really excited to add some new biodiversity to my tank after scrubbing out a lot of algae and now it probably isn’t going to happen. Not sure I want to risk putting it in after a minimum of 7 days in transit if it doesn’t show up until Monday at the earliest. This sucks.

Reeftown held up shipping my nudis because of the weather in Memphis. Unfortunately not much can be done once something is in transit and the weather goes south. I would expect though that your sand and mud will be fine if they are in Orlando. The micro-organisms in that stuff is pretty resilient as long as it doesn't freeze. Much better that it is in Orlando than Memphis right now. Might not be a bad idea to throw it in a bucket of fresh saltwater for a day or two and then drain off the excess water before adding to the tank. That should take care of any die off. Although, I wouldn't really expect much die off at all.

I hope not. Just wasn’t expecting this. I should have known better and looked at the weather in Memphis. It’s not like this isn’t a known problem.

On a happier note I had the great pleasure to meet up this morning with fellow R2R member @Fungusamongus and see his tank in person. It’s a great looking tank and he’s doing a really great job with it. I was jealous, lol. I gave him an extra nano tank that I wasn’t using and he hooked me up big time with some coral frags. They have all been dipped and are now in the tank. Most are closed and unhappy right now but here they are.

Favites. These may be a grafted variety depending on how it plays out so it will be a nice surprise if I can get this to grow.

He also managed to grab me some baby collanista snails and a couple of micro brittle stars. Hopefully both will start to breed.

I could not be more grateful to Jarrod for hooking me up with these corals. I don’t have any friends who reef so it’s great to meet someone locally who shares my love for the hobby. Can’t wait to see what he does with the nano I gave him. Should be very cool.

The microbiome in that mud/sand will likely be just fine. The little critters might be hardy enough, too. Maybe a little bit of die-off, but I imagine they'll hunker down in the mud and become active again once their in the tank

Thanks for the optimism. I'm hoping for the best. I really want to see how this stuff does. It would be a shame if it's ruined.
