I have a small patch of Cyano. Should I give it a little shot of Chemiclean or just use the UV first?
Siphon it out and at the same time run the UV for a 24 hour period

Go to a Home Depot or a hardware store and buy an adapter for the I’ve to size the inlet down. I had To size mine down from 2” to 1/2” using pvc and hose barbs.

So that’s 1/2” and I need to go to a 3/4”. How would I go up in size? Would I have to glue adapters to it to make it stay?

I would be more focused on getting the 3/4” down to 1/2”. You can go either way. To get the 1/2” to 3/4”, use a hose barb from a hardware store that had an ID of 1/2” and an OD of 3/4”. That way you can glue the hose barb onto the pump spigot.

Good point. I’ll give that a try! Thanks

Got her running. I’m worried about the water flow. It’s coming out he other end half way. When I look through the window on top were the other Spicket would go there is no water in that area but water is coming out at the other end . Normal?

If you don't have the UV inlet barbs pointing upwards or facing upwards slightly you won't be able to evacuate all the air surrounding the quartz sleeve and the bulb. The window does not go on top is my first clue that you might have the installation position backwards.

It’s fine, but flip it around to get all the air out, then turn it back the way you want it

I tried that I even opened the window and ran the powerhead and water doesn’t even come out of that area maybe the pump is just too small ?

It really doesn’t matter That much. I have air inside mine and its been up for over a year. It does not affect the rate art which you kill things. Adding a larger pump will just allow the larger protozoan and bacteria to pass through without dying.

Can a UV light run without full water around it? Like can it run dry?

I’m just thinking the pump maybe to slow. ;)

When I lift it on the side facing vertical the water has a hard time coming out. I turned on the UV light and I can see the bulb. There is no water around it. So it’s like the water is going in then running along the bottom and coming back out .
