Want to Get a Shark for a 350 gallon aquarium

I am getting an 8ft x 2ft x 30 350 gallon aquarium soon and won’t have it set up for a while, but I wanted to know if there is any type of shark that would be able to go in a tank that size.

juvenile coral catshark could work in a 350 but prolly not as an adult.

I am assuming you already have a lot of knowledge regarding marine aquariums and this isn’t your first tank..

8x2x30" is 300 gal, would recommend not adding any sharks ,all will outgrow tank too fast.

You can easily fit 25 sharks in a 350. And they are cheap

yeah you’d probably need a 10-12 foot long tank

The only shark you could probably keep there long term is a coral cat shark. they’re pretty boring though and require lots of care so it wouldn’t recommend them.

Having kept a couple sharks back in the day (not really proud to admit this) no shark is ideally suited to a 2' wide aquarium for its lifespan. As said above the coral cat is probably the best bet but full adult size is 24"-28" and if well cared for reach near adult size fairly quickly mine was about 22" at 18 months. Bamboo cats get too big.

I saw something like this years ago when I was a kid at an lfs it was maybe 18". At the time I was told that is as big as it gets and I am pretty sure they called it a lemon shark or a lemon tip shark. I dont think its true as googling lemon shark shows a shark that gets 11'.

Tank that size I was thinking ONE juvenile yellow tang, but have a backup plan for when it gets to adult size and needs a bigger tank. . .

I think we're forgetting to accommodate the captivity size differential of 80%. By that standard we can do the 8 footer, 6 if he doesn't quite feed him enough. I think we're making progress!!

9 and a half would be fine. Enough room to move back and forth 6 inches.
