I have 2 hammers that I noticed weird growth of some sort on them.

The 1st looks like the head was splitting and is now only held on by flesh. Lights are out on a crab was crawling on it but when lights are on it still extends good and the part hanging has polyps as well.

On the 2nd there is a weird growth going down to the rocks. Not sure what it is.

Any thoughts on either is greatly appreciated.

Looks like physical damage in both cases. A bit of broken skeleton sagging, held on by flesh only.

Better photo of both. That’s what it looks like to me also. What could break them like that.

Nope nothing fell in the tank and nothing been around them

I’m guessing they will both heal and be ok

Doubtful. Hanging flesh like that probably won’t last for long. The other piece if it has a head on it may grow on its own.
