Two and a half years into my present reef and I still can't get any significant coraline algae growth.

Clowns are laying eggs in my classroom reef. So, unless my school is ready to pony up a nice stipend for me to run a small clownfish hatchery, those poor guys are fish food. Kinda sad!
Have you tried coralline in a bottle?

I added some a few years back. I'm actually ok with it. The back glass on my classroom reef gets covered every few months and requires a bunch of scraping. I do have some coraline, it just won't take hold on my "liferock"
Yeah, I had the same issue initially with my old 90g. I'm gonna be getting live rock from TBS for my entire load. That's gonna be expensive. Hopefully, with added coralline at the very beginning, it'll take hold sooner than my last tank.

Woooah — step back bro! lol

I’ve learned that “it’s cheaper to keep ‘er “ over the years…
LOL, yeah, as I posted I KNEW how that was going to come off!!! ......And I posted anyway....Bad man! I've been with my Lady 38 years this next month. Since December of 86. It's been FULL of ups and downs! But now that we're old we're too tired to fight. Jeez, we've been together since we were 23. We're 61 next month. We were born on the same day in the same year. I'm 10 hours older. So she has to do what I say, right?!?!

I went with caribe sea arches liferock on this 30 gallon mixed reef, because I wanted a very specific scape. I know now it is nowhere near as good as quality live rock.

I dragged up some corals the other day too. They were starting to shade everything underneath

Yeah. It sucks. I have 145lbs of dead rock. And I've decided not to use it. I may use SOME in my tank, but I'll have to cure it. I don't know. It's easier to just buy the TBS rock and go with the flow man.

23 years for me and yup - you become a better negotiator over time. No textbook, YT video, counseling, or AI can help with marriage and staying married! Just like reefing, you just learn your tank(spouse)’s personality over time…

Had to take some time today and trim back Spongodes, Green slimer and Blue Staghorn (below). These are out of control. Had someone waiting for them

What is your good problem whether it be growth, fish babies, snails or ???

My PC Rainbow and Purple Stylo are getting out of hand. At least the PC is easy to trim. The Stylo requires a jackhammer.

Another good problem — I have enough dry rocks for another 1000gal tank, after I filled my 450gal. Yes, I have a rock hoarding problem. I’m still looking for more Tonga branch rocks when people tear down their tanks… :)

It's almost like friends with benefits at my point. It's more than that, yes, cause I don't know what I'd do without her, lol, but that spark one has in the first few years is gone!
