I think this is what I am using, you can turn it on and off manually or use the sensor (I like the sensor) and it can be plugged in or run on batteries:

I've been squinting to see things under my cube for years...
Why didn't I think to add a light?

My last tank was just an under cabinet light with a switch on the side of the fixture. They are cheap, usually good for moisture, and last a while.

I just went to home depot and found a convenient size led strip, they have all types of sizes, both battery operated and wired.

I went the DIY route. Since I have an APEX I used an old 1link cable and a COB led strip light. Then just connected the LED to the 1link, plug that into the eb832 1link, and that was more or less it. Not sure if that is an option.

Otherwise there are plenty of under cabinet options that are pretty reasonable.

No APEX here but thanks !

I’ve decided on a rechargeable model with motion detection. 25$ for two lights, not much to lose. I will get it tomorrow.

If you have an IKEA around, get some strip light from there. I got one for less than $25, and it's long enough for my tank to be evenly lit. Of course, I have an apex, so it's hooked up nicely, but I'm sure Ikea has Alexa/remote-friendly setups, too. Pictures for words:

I'm not sure which one I have now, but it looks like this: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/vattensten-led-light-strip-white-00530542/
