What would you do with a 2nd tank?

Since I don't need to consult with an S.O., I still want to get another tank and start a Predator tank.

Definitely a no coral, predator fish only tank!

macroalgae with all the little odd filter feeders (christmas worms, coco worms, clams, sponges, sea cucumber, etc ) and small fish (gobies, blennies, pipefish, etc) and inverts (sexy shrimp, anenome crabs, etc) with probably a butterfly or two.

I’d shut it down . Setup a second large tank for sps frag grow outs in my basement, became a hassle to take care of two sets of everything (I had AWC from main tank to basement and basement to drain, but duplicate pumps, skimmers, cleaning, etc became too much). Sold the setup and went back to perfect control and maintenance of my main display. Don’t think I would do second tank again!

I started my 180g tank 5 years ago… made a ton of rookie mistakes but eventually got things kind of under control …. When we redid a separate casita behind out house 3 years ago I added a 2nd 200g. Both are mixed reef. I can easily move corals from one tank to another if it’s having issues with neighbors or nibbler fish. It’s not double the work but close. Luckily I added 2 x 50 g drums for my mixing station and can pump directly from salt mix into the casita tank - this makes water changes very efficient. Here is the Casita 200 g tank - still a work in progress but growing out nicely

So if you have your first tank set up already and you managed to talk your S.O. into a 2nd tank, what would you do with it? Let's assume it's a 70-gallon...just for conversation's sake... Let's assume your first tank is a 225-gallon acro-dominant mixed reef... What would you do with the new 70-gallon tank??

Well I’m trying to set up a second tank now
My idea is to move all the corals to the new tank (100g) and leave all but one nem in the old tank (75g)…..

Then I’m hoping to get my hands on 15-20 baby clowns - all from the same clutch - and put them in the now nem tank.

Since it’s just nems ….it should be an easier to manage tank.

But I may need a 3rd tank for all my corals

FOWLR predator tank. Snowflake eel, lionfish (dwarf, fuzzy, radiata, Fu Manchu), Flame Angelfish, Lemonpeel Angelfish, Blue Spotted Puffer, Paddlefin Wrasse, One Spot Foxface, Maroon Clownfish. Probably not all of that but it gives you some ideas!
