Got the lights hung today, waiting on another ghl to fill in that gap.
Also found out Mp40s will NOT work on 3/4 inch glass, so on the hunt for another pair of gyres.
Mp40wqds absolutely work on 3/4 in glass. I have two of them on mine. Also, check out the Red Sea reef waves, very nice gyre type pumps.
Sick build btw! Just found it, keep up the solid work.

Edited to say: if I was doing a 330gal display I’d have mp60s! Something to consider ;)

They absolutely don’t, 4 brand new in box, the weight of the wet side would just fall off, and I’m not the first to have it happen too. Lol I’d rather not be at work for 2 weeks and my wife phone and tell me all 4 Mp40s are on the sand bed and she can’t reach them.

I went 4 Mp40s on the over flow end, for varied flow, but didn’t work out. I have 2 gyre fx280 on the peninsula end. And just got 2 more of them today when I sold the Mp40s

That’s very odd, I wonder why mine are working without fail for 5 months now...

I just put a tape to my glass to double check.. it’s every bit of 3/4”

System is fully operational. Salt is at 1.025, temp is still coming up. Vectra l2 is pushing 1800gph to the display.
Now just wire management. Hopefully lights 5/6 will be here tomorrow

Well looks like the 3 fish in the frag tank graduated back to QT. Hopefully every one gets along for the next few weeks.
Luckily, I never ran the frag tank in with the main display, so the DT is still sterile.
I have a Esshopps sump coming this weekend for the frag tank, and will make it it’s own system. Going for 100% pest free system.

Got the new sump all cleaned up for the frag system. It’s an esshopps sump. Came with a bubble Magnus curve 5 skimmer as well.

So I added all my fish today, they went threw 21 days quarantine. And all survived!

One thing is , I’m not happy with the GHL mitras. They have been nothing but problematic to adjust and get decent par. (100 par on the top of the rocks)

Second round of fish has been added to the QT.
5 bangaii cardinals
A solar wrasse and a orange back fairy wrasse

couple more fish for the tank and I’m done. Thinking 5-7 anthias , a bicolour blenny, sand sifting goby, pair of mandarins, and a few more wrasses...

One thing I wish I had was more space in the fish room. Wife “thinks” I’m going to let her use this for storage! Jokes on her, I want a bigger frag system !

Wow so many updates. Not sure why I haven’t gotten notices since Nov. that Naso looks like the one they had at Ocean Creation. Haven’t been there for over two years now. But I am glad yours didn’t perish in the last crash.

Your build looks great. I’m glad it worked out in the end and you did not sell it. And that you actually got it into the basement. How many people did you employ and how did you manage that?

I also vote for a dedicated sump room.

I got the naso from a neighbour shutting his tank down actually! I got him not to long ago, along with all the other fish, put them all threw quarantine, and into the big tank after 21 days!

I hired a moving company, best $400 ive ever spent!

tanks currently running, sump, frag tank, and quarantine tank are all in there own room!
