Ok, so it has been a while but not much has changed. I do have some updates that have been in place since last year that I never showed. Just some real quick snaps of the lights hanging and some tonga rock that had been added. Other than that the tank is "marinating " right now getting ready. I am taking it slow, very slow.

I'm not crazy about my rockwork after letting it sit for a while. Thinking about taking a lot out and adding sand. I like the benefit of bare bottom but I like the extra dimension of a sand bed so I might do that too.

Well, I think its a terrible idea and I hope my wife will never see this but I am going to do a list of equipement and a run down of the cost. I bet there are a ton of people out there that ask what a large system might cost and it adds up quick. Some areas I went used and bought of the forum but important area's I bought brand new. All in all I think I found the best prices on everything I needed so I doubt it could be done much cheaper than this.

375G Tank + Steel Stand 84x32x32 $3,000.00
Dry Rock 200lbs $ 400.00
Dry Tonga 70lbs $ 200.00
Tideline 48" Sump $ 650.00
Reeflo Dart Hybrid $ 375.00
Apex $ 500.00
Plumbing (bulk heads, valves, etc) $ 464.00
MP40's x 2 (used) $ 300.00
800W Heater Titainium X2 $ 160.00
Lumunbright X3 (used) $ 100.00
Ballasts 250w X3 (used) $ 100.00
60" T5 kits x 2 $ 300.00
RODI (used) $ 100.00
Reeflux 12k 250W x 3 $ 250.00
60" ATI Blue + x 4 $ 100.00
BRS 50ML/ min doser - ATO $ 90.00
Reef Octopus Regal 300INT $ 675.00
Misc Home Depot $ 300.00
Live Sand $ 150.00

That looks like one of the new AGE tanks. They require stainless steel bracing now.

Actually I am not sure. A LFS has it built for a customer who backed out and when I saw it in store I swooped in. Got a great deal because of it. If i remember correctly it was a guy in the DFW area who used to work for one of the large tank makers and spun off his own business which didnt last long. Honestly, build quality is something I am concerned with. I think its terrible. I have anxiety every day about leaks. Side panels aren't square, top wasn't square, and leveling was a pain in the **** because nothing lined up perfectly. Its still not perfectly level but I spen't a long time trying. If I had to do it over again, I wouldnt have bought this particular tank. Would have paid full price for one custom made for me with warrenty.

Who built the tank?

I'm building a new house so the old tank had to go temporarily. I sold it as opposed to storing it. I'll probably go bigger with the next one.

Bummer, but new beginnings are fun too. It didn't seem like you we're enamored with the quality of your tank so hopefully this will allow you to get your comfortable with.

My next large build will be made by Planet Aquariums and I'll buy stand, canopy and tank from them so there will be a long warrenty. Also, I will have someone install (level it) it for me.

I did think my plumping was top notch though! I'll do it simularly next go around.
