Interested as I've got the exact same on my newer rocks, even coated only in lighted areas and slick to the touch.
Here's to seeing it go away.[emoji2]

It's all just part of getting the new tank up and running. Keep moving forward and it will subside eventually with basic husbandry.

if you are seeing green algae, now is the time to add in the clean up crew.. for a tank this size I'd definatly add in atleast 60-100 turbo snails, maybe 200 trochus snails, 100 nassarius vibex snails, and 2-3 dozen of some scarlet hermit crabs and blue leg hermit crabs

I'd politely counter that such a list is much too extreme. Even if someone wanted to stock their tank to an extreme level with CUC, you certainly wouldn't do it all right out the gate. You need to actually have legitimate algae growth. A thin coating of green is hardly sustainable.

Even once the tank has matured, 100 turbos would be ridiculous. I realize it's not exactly linear, but would you add ten to a 100 gal? Definitely not.

Personally I think CUC are over hyped. Sure you should add a handful to do their thing, but that's not what is going to keep your tank stable. My 180 gal SPS system has about 5 snails. Can they clean out little hard to reach crevices? Sure. But I don't think they can do much more than my tangs.

As is always the case, many ways to skin a cat. But I certainly wouldn't throw hundreds of anything in until you have sustainable algae. Otherwise they may just die off. JMO...

Just read your whole thread, WOW what a story :) Glad you were able to save most of your fish and a shame you couldn't do the same for the corals. Love the set up and the lights.

Tank is looking SPECTACULAR ! ! ! Following along :)
