2. there is an invisible force field above your tank that causes your fingers to slightly open thus dropping whatever it was that you were holding

Bahahaahaaa! I thought it was just me. That explains a lot.

lol...SHOULDER LENGTH
Yes, shoulder length. My clowns, in a 20g, would wait til I was not paying attention and come bite me on the back side of my arm above the elbow. After just about knocking the tank over from being startled by the jerks, I went shoulder length. No worries since [emoji14]

No joke I need to get some because nothing irritates me more than when the queen(ocellaris clown) bites me even drew blood once. Even though I know or see it’s coming sometimes I still jerk so much water splashes everywhere and things get knocked over. Actually happened again tonight. She’s lucky she was my first fish

This is awesome I remember all the things I did wrong or didn't get enough info when I started into the hobby! I got into the hobby because saltwater fish are far cooler than fresh (my opinion) but then want to get into coral and cuts the choice of fish in half. Or a second set up at an apartment with hang on equipment destroying the wall behind it! Always being extremely careful with corals in the beginning until I watched coral being fraged with a ban saw lol or the damsels you get to start the cycle of a tank turn out to be the biggest bully's of the tank and can never get out

one more thing

Allot about 1 electrical plug for every gallon of display tank.

and it's corollary; For every electrical device, you will need three plugs.
So absolutely true!
Seriously though, label every plug and cord. Man, even when that is done, family will mess that up and cause a crazy tank situation for you to come home to after vacation. :)

more laws from the book that was never written

The difference between you thinking your tank is struggling versus doing great is the 5 minutes before and after cleaning the glass.

This also goes for the window surrounding:

- Vacuuming the sand bed,

- Blowing the detritus off the rocks, and

- The whites dimming while the blues still at 100%

Similar experience when I left town for 8 days with family. Landed in Lihui and got a call stepping off plane that tank is going crazy. What fun!!!!
