Update:
Temp 78
Salinity 1.025
Ph 8.2
No3- 0.1
Po4- .1
Alk-9
Ca- 483
Mg- 1500

Everything is moving along. Diatom out break, which is expected. But so far so good. Had to order new pwr supply and controller for uv. Added a second fish: my favorite the marine betta, been shy but eating
20230812_191656.jpg

Also got a free coral ( I know , I know to soon) a green Kenya tree. Seems to be doing fine.

Rob, I'm putting a 25w aqua uv on the return. What flow did you run through your uv? I can run it slower for ich control but worry about killing beneficial organisms in the water column.

Welcome to Mobile! I'm across the bay and just returning to saltwater aquariums. That's quite the setup! Looking good.

I run a simplicity 3200 dc-controlled pump on the lowest setting. it made a huge difference on my last set up.

Ahh, i work downtown Mobile. Same? I was just chatting with two other members that work downtown as well. Not sure if you're in this thread? https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/gulf-coast.890120/ My tank is still in progress, but hope to be trading frags ASAP. Also, wouldn't happen to have any chaeto or LR rubble i could steal from you would you? I could trade dry rubble or rock, if so.

Went out of town for 2 wks ( wife was taking care of tank), but I forgot to turn on skimmer.
Tank is still new, but I did have a good amount of algae grow. I did add a powder brown, Atlantic blue tang (juvenile), and a clown. Oh and some hardy gsp.

Ok, so I think I am done with purchasing fish. Just added sailfin, heniochus butterfly, and 2 fire fish and a purple and yellow feather duster.
Last fish ordered is the Singapore angel. Be here in the next week or so.
All fish are happy and eating. Snowflake even ate. It was feeding time when I took pic sorry

Always liked firefish. Not exotic, but colorful and active. Have any blennys? I keep seeing people putting locally caught ones in their tanks, but i couldn't get mine to eat years back. May try again with the new tank.

No blennys yet. I had the same issues in the past. Currently working on building the pod population. There is a purple one in there too, but haven’t seen him since I put him in. Prolly hiding. There will be some gobies in the future

Just posting some parameters. Tanks a month old, so they are in range. Dealing with diatoms. Waiting on the good bacteria to catch up. Have to fabricate something to hold my t5 fixture mounted to the canopy. Right now LEDs are just sitting on the glass

Busy day…
New additions: red lyretail flame back angel and purple fire fish ( haven’t seen the first since he went in, no idea no trace of him)

Received replacement parts for us pump. They didn’t ship the power supply with the wall plug, will address that tomorrow, but have a temp fix to get it going. UV installed. Now my favorite part…PICTURES!!!
The lyretail and flame back are hiding
