You use the word “likely” a lot. Actually, new systems commonly have quite elevated levels of several elements.

Starting a system with tap water is definitely not smart. In any Acropora system this is extremely risky depending on how many pollutants are present. Chlorine, Copper, Zinc, Neodymium, etc…are all harmful at high levels.

I did an ICP-Analysis test on my tank and RO. In my RO sample on a filter with new filters the results showed GOLD in it. I am in Maryland there is no way I have gold anywhere in my area. This is the first time it is showed up, so I figured it was a Test failure, but I got NOTHING from ICP-Analysis when I emailed support about the issue. I wouldn't trust the test all too much unless you're doing them every couple months with similar results.
