Not a prototype, final production model that has been through rigorous beta testing.

Chris

Every product that CoralVue has dropped on the market has been through rough and tough testing procedures.
This product isn't like a pump or a light it's something that a few other have failed at to make it that you can trust it on a reef tank.
Coralvue is the first one to release a product that can be trusted, for that I'm on board.
Every product that is new is and will be criticized and that's ok cause we learn from that.
Just look at many pumps, lights, etc etc........... many times a fail or crash is due to owners responsibility, just read across the forum on a daily basic.

I have only been in this hobby for a little time and haven't started dosing yet (soon) but can't you maintain a stable KH if you setup your two part properly? Test your KH while setting your two part then when fluctuation is found later down the line due to new growth or new coral added adjust the two part again? or is that not how it works?

I heard they are trying to figure out how to make the unit cheaper I think is was going to be $1500 for the first units before rights were sold.

Plain and simple when something new comes to market they gotta see how it plays out and how people will react to it. Comes out expensive for all the costs to get it up and running, all the advertisements, the labor and time it's taken to make this. Yeah it's expensive and even dropping down $700-1,000 isn't practice for the average aquarist because it's just not needed that much. In 5-10 years they'll be around $200-400 easy just because of all the different companies that will find different ways to do it. I respect what you've done but this is more for high ballers and public aquariums, large reef systems, research and development. Regardless of what anyone says if you can't afford it and don't think it's worth the price to you because it's more of a luxury item then pulling out a Hanna checker and checking alk in a matter of 3-5 minutes for $50 or monitoring it for $1,000+. It's innovation and innovation is $$$$$$$.

Happy to see that these units fiinaly are send out and the hobbyist can put their hands on with different systems to find out how it works for them.
All though this piece of equipment is already tested over and over I would love to read how the US hobbyist think of this.
I talk on a timely matter to Coralvue and discussed this with Chris and I believe this piece of equipment will make a difference in the hobby.
The fact that the first 150 units were sold quick will tell you enough and that they have a waiting list of hobbyist for the next shipment is only positive.

The problem with hoping this is going to be a cheap thing soon is that we are talking about and automated 3 pump doser with a PH probe and processor to perform complex testing on a repeatable basis. Not something that can be done cheaply and correctly and safely.

I don't think there is a problem at all, the KH Guardian is a well developed piece of equipment we hobbyist should be proud of that we have finally something that does all the leg work for us.
IMO and not only mine but many we know there is a large enough market for this great piece of equipment.
Just look at a other manufacture pumps and LED lights now after the 8 years they still rocking and rolling and prices are unchanged............... why??
Cause they are market leading company and amazing well build and durable trustworthy with awesome CS company and Coralvue is one of them.
