Two Finnex Titanium controlled by my Apex. If you have your tank long enough your heater WILL fail. The key to success it to minimize your risk. This is what the Apex controller does (along with many other thing).

Ehiems are really good because the glass is so thick. I have two problems with them though they are way to long, and the temp attire gauge is really easy to mess up. I've had a lot of customers spin the wrong part and then you can never set it right after that.

JAGER for sure.. Tip: use 2 underpowered heaters as they are often inaccurate temp wise and unreliable if you rely on 1 heater it may break and overheat the tank.. If you have 2 and 1 breaks 1 heater can't overheat the tank

I have an eheim Jager and an aqueon pro. The aqueon pro keeps temperatures way more stable than the eheim.

I use titanium heaters so that there won't be any explosions like glass heaters can do

Read my review (PowderBlue) for this heater. I run two of them in a 120 gal. After about a year of use I'd still say it's worth it's weight in gold.

Aquarium Heaters & Temperature Control: Hagen Fluval E Series Heaters

Wow, what controller were you using when your previous heater failed on you? That really sucks but glad you found a heater that works for you. I'm thinking of going with 2 of these bad boys since I'm not going to be running a controller, I like more biology and less technology. I previously used Eheim but I really want a digital heater, I dislike analog.

Thanks for sharing that heater.
