This is my second "large tank" attempt my first being a standard 180 gallon that did well for a while but ended up crashing due to things caused by myself (overreaction to AEFW) and other unknown issues. Here is the link to that build for anyone interested:

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bknapps-stealth-180.148862/

Equipment List:

- Tank: Planet Aquariums Custom, 60×30×25, eurobraced
- Stand: DIY
- Sump: Synergy Reef TS44 Storm Cloud
- Overflow: Synergy Reef 20"
- Light: Giesemann Spectra MH/T5
- Controller: 2016 Neptune Apex
- Flow: 2× MP40QD, 2× Maxspect Gyre XF250
- Return: 2× Eheim 1262
- Heat: 2× Eheim 200 watt
- Fuge: Vipraspectra 300watt Grow Light
- ATO: Tunze Osmolator with Atomic Reef 10 gallon ATO container
- Supplementation: Avast Kalk Stirrer with BRS 1.1mL dosing pump
- Filtration: 2× AquaMaxx FRse reactors, Marine Pure Block
- Skimmer: ATB Elegance Pro 200
- Rock: 80% VidaRock from Cerameco, 20% dry BRS rock built with AquaForest Stone Fix
- Plumbing: Black Sch. 40 with white fittings, 1.5" drains 3/4" returns
- Salt: Red Sea blue bucket

My plans for this tank is a mixed reef that is stick and chalice heavy with a bunch of smaller fish (mainly wrasses, anthias, gobies, blennies.) I have a 20 long set up to QT all fish and have a 40B frag tank (for now, may not keep up long term.) I am loosely following the BRS ULM cycle which is currently in its third week and I should be ordering my first fish soon.

Thanks for following along.

I try to do something new with every new build that I do, for my last tank (https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bks-will-be-wrasse-and-sps-dominated-120.247649/) I did a custom hybrid light fixture. I tore apart an eight bulb T5 and retro'd in two Ecotech Gen1 Radions, I ended up moving on from that light but it was a fun experience building it. So, for this tank I decided I was going to DIY the stand, I quickly realized I wasn't a carpenter but I'm not unhappy with the final results.

Just a simple 2×4 frame skinned with 3/4" birch plywood.

Starting of the base frame, can see my trusty sidekick Bentley watching over things:

I used Kilz on the frame even though most of it is hidden.

As you can see nothing is 100% perfect, think I'll stick to my day job, LOL.

Ran some LED strips through the frame work to keep the wires as hidden as possible.

Then it was finally time to pick up the tank!

Very nice work done by Planet Aquariums.

Got the stand exterior painted white and mounted the black nickel hardware. There are a total of four doors; three that go into the sump/filtration area and another that goes into the dedicated electronics compartment.

Then the day finally came to put the tank onto the stand, without @Defective_Weeble and @SmyrnaReefer help it wouldn't have made it on there, thanks again guys.

After getting my sump and overflow from @mixer911 and Synergy Reef it was finally time to get started on the plumbing, I've used mainly Sch 40 grey PVC in the past but decided to do things a little differently this time and went with black and white which matches the sump and stand.

Thanks, @mixer911

Here's a few more pics of the build.

Some of the plumbing and wiring mess behind the tank I'm yet to clean up.

Synergy Reef TS-44 Storm Cloud, from left to right drain, refugium, skimmer, return.

Had to modify (read: cut) the sump in a few places to get things the way I wanted. Needed to notch out the refugium cover to allow the manifold to feed the fuge if I feel it needs more flow. I also had to notch out areas in the return cover to be able to plumb the dual returns and to hang the AquaMaxx reactors.

You can see the AquaMaxx and Avast Kalk Stirrer.

Electronics section, I'm trying to keep as many electronics from being in the sump area as possible and keep that area neat.

Thanks for looking.

Who says plumbing isn’t black and white ;)

The system looks well thought out and executed. I really like it! I am curious to see how much flow you get through your sump with the two eheims. I am trying to decide what return pumps to use on my current build. I just spotted the Fluval Sp4 and 6. They look interesting.

I don't know much about the Fluval pumps but I liked the redundancy factor of having dual return pumps, one would've been adequate normally but since I'm running Triton-ish and they recommend 10x turnover I went with two, plus I already had them so that helps.

Thanks @rcmike

Here's the sump area when the ViparSpectra light is on, so far I'm happy with this light. It was rather inexpensive from Amazon but we'll see how it does once there is actually a bioload.

I also got my first order of fish in for this tank, they're both currently in quarantine. I got them both from Live Aquaria. Golden Rhomboid and Pink Margain Fairy wrasses, I also ordered a Yellow Assesor but he, unfortunately was a DOA. Here's a crummy pic from the QT.

Everything looking good Brandon! Hows the golden look?

Thanks @11f150 the Rhomboid so far looks good, he is very little the margain is easily triple in size. I just checked on them quickly this morning and they seem fine, I need to get to AC to pick up some LRS.

For an unknown reason the pink margain didn't make it, rhomboid is eating daily and has gone through one Prazi treatment.
