Let me know if it works
Jump from dim to 5 volt
Run power from 24 volt to 24 volt
I shouldn’t work with the power hooked up through the dim
It might be worth emailing Steve’s for a diagram and waiting
Don’t know about the smoking unless the driver isn’t reducing the voltage enough for the led chip I think they would drive 1-6 without issue
Is the led on a heat sink it might require that as well

Hello,
I’m curious not sure if you thought of this but most cree leds have a longer end which is the positive and the short side is the negative. If you have any of these reversed that would also cause your problem of smoking and not working. I would also test each led individually to make sure the diode hasn’t been burnt up.
Once you have smoke you have parts that are done for or are very short lived
Wait for Steve's to get back to you and then order the smoked parts.
I am looking through your photos. And will try and figure out what happened as well.
Sorry this happened.
If you've sent 24 volts to the dim connection you've wired it wrong and those drivers will be toast. I use meanwell ldd drivers on my set up, the dim is connected to the pwm output of my DIY version of the storm/hurricane X controller, so I guess you need to connect the positive from the potentiometer to the dim and the other to ground?
Hopefully the LEDs should be ok.
