Is this product safe for DIY Mag? Safe Step 8300 Magnesium Chloride Ice Melt
I had a bag of it that was really dirty. As in, lots of a heavy dark grey contaminant that would settle out. I advise against using it (unless I just got a bad bag).

If no one has anything "definitive", Ill call the company on Monday. Other than chemical composition, what other questions would be useful?

Manufacturers of bulk products such as this generally won't tell you, and probably do not know, the impurities in it.

Ok..+ 1 on probably not worth it to save a few bucks...other DIY recipes have been spot on. thanks
