color coded too. Orange for return. Green for in sump runs. (UV, GFO, Carbon ect) black for return line. No particular reason for chosen colors, I just wanted them different in case wife called with a problem.

Smart thinking!

Nice, that's actually the first really cogent argument I have heard for painting the plumbing.

Painted lots in hostile agriculture environments - just wipe it with PVC primer and paint it in the next 30 minutes. Lots of jobs 10 years old and the only paint that ever came off was scuffed or scratched off. At that time we used Tremclad - Rustoleum has become the go to now because of how quick it dries to the touch. Just a thought though - it would be a problem if you had to modify painted pipe and cut in a fitting or two ....

The black thing is padding. The thing right before the valve is a union to be able to pull it for cleaning or mods if needed. I put unions on everything just in case.

I do too, but what I'm asking is after the black padding, before the valve.
It looks like a cone or a top of a funnel ?

it's the union. The light in the cabinet makes a shadow on it. Plus it might not have gotten a good amount of paint on it either.

Nice George.

I built a Ford 427 Shelby Cobra and to polish all the aluminum engine parts etc, I bought a stand up industrial polished/buffer, so if,...I keep the white PVC pipe, I've thought about buffing it all of it to a bright gloss finish. What do you guys think ?

Polishing could help with creep removal but do a great piece first to make sure you get no adverse affects between the compound and the pvc.
