Okay! I am not affiliated to Willows Reef in any way other than having purchased a jar of Coral food but here it goes!

I have struggled to find a powdered Coral food that didn’t make my phosphates sky rocket. Had tried reef roids, Goni power, benepets benereef… and all of them would send my phosphates to the dangerously high zone and my acros had started to brown as a result.

I have started using Coral feast. Getting great feeding responses and fluffy LPS but no phosphate spike!!!!!!!!! Either way, I’m super stoked and will update this thread as I continue to use it. Super happy thus far!

I just looked it up, so are you first mixing it with water to form a “cloud” or will it thicken to a slurry for LPS?
details please
(I have been using Roids & chilli)

It will thicken into a paste but I mostly mix it with phyto or tank water and then squirt around corals mouths. Everything looks extremely happy thus far!

Benereef is another great non-PO4 spiking alternative to Reef Roids.

I may have to try it again. For me it made phosphate spike from 0.18 to 0.6 overnight so I discontinued use after a single use. I find it super interesting how reef roids will not lead to a phosphate spike in some tanks but will in others. It is pretty amazing how our individual tanks behave as completely isolated ecosystems from a nutrients export perspective.
