I start by doing a big water change. Then I check my parameters and make sure I have fresh GFO in.

Probably just get a protein skimmer or increase water changes. I'm not really into GFO for me it's mostly just been a coral killer.

Do you happen to run a protein skimmer to begin with? Or would just pick one up if you had an algae breakout?

Small enough tank, or big enough water changes, and you can certainly make that work. Glad to hear your having success!

Don't try to pull it off. Think about the age of my bulbs. Look to see if sunlight it getting to the tank. Check phosphate, nitrates. And of course water change. Also check water flow.

I believe it's 1 ml per 10 gallons I'd need to tripple check, but I did it Dailey for about 2 weeks with 0 affect with any corals, inverts, and fish. I believe it starves the algae from oxygen... There is a great post on this I'd have to google it when I get home
