Ok so I should do the hyposalinity for 24 to 48 hours at 1.009 so brackish waters the only problem is that my water temp averages around 83 to 82 degrees what happens now it said in the hyposalinity article that it needs to be at 79 degrees does it matter or no

Temp isn’t too important as long as it remains cos tank. 79 is just where most reefs sit.
If I’m not mistaken, the tank needs to sit in hypo for 30 days after the last spot disappears.
The star should be out for 45-76 days. Longer is better.

I went to my lfs today and they told me to just dip the fish in for 5 minutes once every other day in fresh and then add copper and then add the copper absorption packets and then wait for like 6 to 7 weeks till I add my starfish

Freshwater dips are stressful for fish. Suggest you use Hydroplex for a 10 minute saltwater dip. It will kill the bugs on them and give low stress relief. Still need to do your other treatment.
