Hello all,

I've been a long time lurker. I'm pretty sure I used to have an account here when I was in my teens but have no clue what that login would be anymore. I stopped reefing when I moved to the Inland Northwest in 2005. I'm now 37 years old and have been back in the hobby for about 6 years. Currently have a 40b that has crashed to the point that it is now a FOWLR waiting in limbo for a full refresh. Not sure what happened other than neglect as my wife and I were busy preparing for our new baby, who is now 7 months old.

The wife has given me almost carte blanche to build a new setup as long as it's still a 40b. The only caveat is that this will be my last try at a reef tank. I've already spent too much over the years for gear and livestock. So I better make this the best, most successful build I've ever done. Build thread is imminent once I start the stand. I'm now just collecting parts

Hello and Welcome back to R2R! Years ago I tried to put corals in my tank with no luck. Being back in the hobby I now have two barrels in my garage which RODI water is in one while the other has the salt mix. This time of the year I use a heater to bring up the water temp starting the night before a water change. I have cold packs in the freezer which I place in the barrel about 1-2 hrs before a summer time water change.
