I use the brs sada ash and calcium chloride pouches and mix them in brs mixing jugs. Sometimes I have to do a lot of shaking and let them still for a while.
I'm just wondering what everyone else's procedure is.

I use the BRS mixing jugs, but a while back I picked up some lab-grade glass stirring rods for exactly this purpose. I tried the shaking and resting and it was just a giant pain, but with the glass rods it's just like mixing anything else up. They're also handy for any other kind of mixing you might need to do.

I have a magnetic stirrer, I wonder if it would be worth throwing a stir pill in there.
Heat the water first.
I might try that. Do you microwave the water?
