I planned for years myself, before finally committing to build.

I use Bayer, but don't dip every piece. I don't dip certain acropora, like the skinned varieties and I don't dip large fleshy LPS as I fear they may retain a lot of the liquid even after rinsing.

One of my first corals. Almost a nuisance now; taking up prime real estate, casting big shadows. Live and learn. Beautiful though....

Happy! Wish I could blink forward in time a year or two and take a peek.

This is an idea for skinning my stand. There would be six removable magnetized panels, each with sound batting and supports to rest on the steel frame.

ImageUploadedByREEF2REEF1452026012.027588.jpg

An assortment of types of wood could be used, I suppose with a common thickness of 3/4" which ought to be pretty common. The 3/4" stock would be cut to a couple different lengths and widths.

all you need is some 8/4 4SF stock cut to 3/8". 1/2, and bond them to a backer with Polyseal. Pre stain and clear coat. I really like the idea. If you have steel use earth magnets to attach out panels.

Jeff, I finally caught up on your build!! Was really cool to go back and remember how long you went without adding water all the way to saying your corals are now nuisances lol!!! Great build, cannot wait to see it in person!!! Definitely inspires fellow reefers, novice and advanced, to see a successful build from scratch. Maybe now I will get updates... Looks like the last update I received was a response to your aiptasia issues waaaaay back!! See you soon friend!

My friend and club mate @Chriscrna gifted me some chaeto for my refugium. I was excited to see some new forms of life! They have the same shape as some amphipods I already have, but are more tan than gray, and much larger. Not sure if these are Isopods or amphipods. Maybe @Lionfish Lair can help me identify.

I asked them to pose together, but they ignored me. Here's a crappy vid of my next largest critter. Can get a comparison in size by the sand perhaps.

Jeff, it was a pleasure to meet you finally! Was so cool to see your tank in person after watching it being built over the last few years. None of these photos do it justice, what a beauty, it's a "must see in person to appreciate", kind of tank!! Wait, that doesn't sound right, not that the photos don't do it justice and that it is not appreciated on these forums, it's just so much more awesome in person!!! Thanks again for everything, I look forward to being part of the ETRC and meeting more folks!! :)

Next month, March 10th, my tank will have been running two years. I'm still having a blast.

Started a CyanoClean (korallen-zucht) regime tonight. Thanks for the lead @cee. Finally mounted a frag of Vivids Rainbow Delight I've been nursing back to life. I'll keep you posted @CoryC. Thanks for the ID's.

Really want to focus on Acropora moving forward, but am always tempted by others, acans lately.

Added a rock today. Nervous, checking po4 a lot, not wanting a spike.

Ran out of CO2 at some point recently, and my dKH has dropped from 10 to 7! Trying to raise it a little, slowly, until I can replace my bottle.

Between the two, pretty nerved out!

No NH3. Slight rise in PO4. Twelve hour drip of baking soda solution; dKH at 8. Panic averted.

I added a small blue sided fairy wrasse yesterday. It caused a lot of excitement! My Lubbocks wrasse colored up like I've never seen it before; a different fish all of a sudden!

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
