I'm recently back in the hobby after taking a serious blow, bleach plus. ex... girl. Bad news
I have SPS growing well but I'm in reaction mode ..
I'm reacting to the issues that arise in my tank and in my refugium
Versus
Having a good test kit.. I found myself in a situation I can't afford good tests...
API strips.
Venue at Hurricane issues from year before it's just been an expensive restart

Test kits seem really expensive until you start losing fish and coral. I recommend Red Sea, Salifert, or Hanna. You can get the basic Red Sea Marine Care test kit to get you started for about $45. I'm glad that you are back in the hobby and wish you well as you work with your tank.

Going with the red Sea, I have a massive refugium and then a strong believer in once that stable he pretty much rarely have to touch it and that's been the issue so far it's just now I'm adding more expensive Coral and getting more nervous about my water parameters although my SPS coral mushrooms LPS are growing great at the moment
