Hi everyone.
I'm looking for some information and ideas. I started my build of a 3/4" acrylic tank. It's 46" x 46" and 22" tall.
I love the rimless look and was wondering if I can get away with leaving the tank without any upper bracing? Or should I put a 4 inch wide brace all around the top?

My other delema is should I go with a center tank wier or a external overflow box on on side? I'm have a tough time making this choice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The tank will live between these two columns.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone .

Good job. I was going to tell you to start by turning the tank right side up. :p JK

This looks like it's going to be a nice build! I'm following! :)

So I decided to fit on the bracing. Still need help making a decision on the overflow box or a center wier. Would love to hear some expert advice on the pros and cons of either designs.

After giving it more thought I'm going to cut more acrylic today for a 12 x 12 wier to place in the center of the tank. I think it will look more simetrical rather than having a overflow box attached to on side of the tank.

The bulkheads are installed. Who knew drilling 2-5/8" diameter holes on 3/4" acrylic was so difficult. I burned out my old Black and Decker drill I had for years. Finished the job of using my big mortar mixing drill. My hole saws are brand new. Just got so hard on the drill once the saw was halfway through.

The wier inlet seems to be low. What is the height of the teeth? What is the height of the tank?? Could be an optical illusion.

The tank is 22" tall. The weir structure is also the same height. I have setup the Thurso drains to keep the water level in the tank to be about 20".

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
