Got this blanket of redish algae on my sandbed. Thought it may be cyano. But its thick. Like i gravel-vac this area yesterday and its already back. I see a lot of diatoms in the mix to. And there is a wiggly looking thing to. Just puzzled. Click link for YT clip.

You can see where i scraped up the sand to get a sample for the microscope. By flame angel.

I think it’s a mix between both cyano and diatoms. Not sure what that worm thing is under the scope. My cyano has behaved how you have described it thick heavy and the next day it’s back. Obviously I could be wrong. @Miami Reef any ideas?
