Well I’ve only ever used LED’s and I’m very happy with them

On skimmers. NYOS Quantum 160 in my case and I’m very happy and would buy another

And welcome to R2R as well!

Thanks guys these new lights are something else!! A bit of reading up I think and may ask for advice on how many?? Regarding the skimmer, are the reef octopus a good brand? Also what’s the thoughts on natural seawater? I live in Cornwall so the water quality is pretty good. Cheers guys all comments are taken on board

Have had the exact same size tank up and running for 12+ years and been in the hobby for several decades. As far as lighting goes there are several good choices. After having used most of the aforementioned options I settled on 2 Orphek v4's. I am able to grow anything, anywhere in the tank. Suggest the BRS video on them. As far as Skimmers go, I have had Bubble King, Vertex, Reef Octopus and a few others. Without question I have found Lifereef to be the simplest and most efficient.
All that being said, IMO the most important factors are patience and consistency. Good luck.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
