I know all of mine would foam less if the water was clean. It's not just waste but, the tank has less in it you could rais the level a bit

I got the level up all the way.I only have 4 fish so far, they must not be producing that much waste. This is the first time I purchased a skimmer so I don't know anything about it except what I read online.

After break in, you need to adjust for everyday use now. Should get the foam 1/4 into the neck.

Yea, you will get that in the beginning because the thing is running amuck. You can really set it up so that its close in the neck now, it'll still create skimmate.

I was always told, that a skimmer is like a toilet, it only flushes when needed. Sometimes it'll flush more than other times.
Salinity and temp makes a difference.

Oh now that makes sense, these are the things people don't really explain to others on YouTube. How does salinity and temp affect it?
