The second photo is my goal. I only had it on those settings for a day. Having channel B and C at 85 is way more blue/violet than where I’m at now (77). I’ve been raising things very slowly. Thanks for the reply! I was hoping that was the case.
What is your light schedule?Apogee MQ-510
Fluval Sea Marine & Reef 3.0 LED 48” strip
All channels 100%
Light is 3-4” above water
55g Tank 48” length
Water depth is 18”
Pumps and powerheads running
I ended up upgrading my light to a xr30 blue. All pumps are on. The light setting is at 90% intensity but at 68% schedule. Very powerful light. I’m realizing I’m going to have to move some of the acros in the mid left of the tank because it’s a little low on par. This is because the return and mp10 cross at this point.Standard 32 gal biocube with 2 12” 21LED blue actinic on each side of the stock lighting.
using a PMK apex meter. All pumps are on.
the blue numbers are all lights On and the red is with the 2 blue actinic bars off.
This thread is to host a Database of Par values on different tanks under different lighting, hopefully it will be useful for people to cross reference if they don’t have access to a Par Meter.
This will not be an exact science but should give people a good estimation of different lighting over different tanks.
Please do not use this thread for comments, let’s try to keep this a Database for Par data only, for more information, suggestions or information please go here..

suggested information that should be included in your post:
- Type of meter you are using for measurements
- Type of lighting.. be specific as possible and include things like manufacturer, age, length and type of bulbs for those t5 users, wattage and reflectors for the MH users.
- LED users if possible include percentages used for different colors
- Height of lighting over your water
- Depth of water
- Pumps or power heads running?
- Any other factors that may contribute to readings such as room lighting, windows, tank in sunroom? etc.
- A picture with measurements would be ideal but a list/description would be fine as well.
- Provide as many collection points as possible such as bottom of tank left, right and center.. middle of tank left, right, center, front and back etc.
