Well wild caught adds to the price
Being a pair - if truely a pair - adds to the price
Fairly uncommon - I believe a limited range in Australia.
$6k? Nah

You can get captive bred at BlueZoo Aquatics for $249 each

So you’re saying I could get a couple fish who have been schlepped across the world, exposed to various possible diseases and stresses along the way for 6.5K or I could buy some tank acclimated ones for 1/13 of the price.

And you will get what you pay for ...ugly looking captive bred freaks....
What are you talking about? Captive bred are just as pretty and do so so much better in aquariums than stressed out wild caught fish. Do you really think you’ll get a better fish if it’s been shipped half starved around the world?!

All of these fish came to me captive bred. Dare you to call them ugly and most would have killed their wild caught cousins.

Stunning!

I think he was thinking about hybrids - like all those designer clownfish.

I love white bonnets and those wide-band Madagascar clowns, but these? They just look too much like Clarkii's to me lol

I think most of the designer clownfish are just strange mutations, not hybrids.

Give me the holotype of the species any day though, I’m not a fan of the designer clowns. A bit too artificial, like a lot of other trends in this hobby.
