Is that bubble algae in your first pic? If so, I didn’t know they grew large like that? Mine is small, clustered. Doesn’t bother me much, I can manually get most when it comes u. As long as it’s not inhibiting coral growth. I’ve had coral, even acros, just grow over it at times. Good luck with the efflo.
It is bubble algae. My foxface eats the small clusters that grow but he doesn’t like the one that are more solitary and grow big

Yours looks great to me. You have some encrusting going down frag plug; and, new plating-out growth. If I had a do-over, I’d break off the frag-plug stem and mount it flat on some rockwork to let it encrust as much as it wants

I agree that’s the best way to go! I’m just not sure where I’m going to plant this thing permanently haha! I put all my frags on that rock cause it’s the highest par area in my tank and everything seems to grow great in that spot! Once this contest is over I’ll move it to a permanent home!

Do you keep fish? What’s your favorite?
I mostly just keep the basics a pair of clowns, six line, tangs, and a foxface. I set my youngest daughter up a tank about a year ago and she picked out a red scooter dragonet that is pretty cool. I would say clowns are my favorite and are what got me to switch from fresh to salt.

How about you?

Is that the office tank build that your daughter has? What tangs do you have?

This is my current fish list:
  • Orange shoulder tang
  • Chromis x6
  • Lyretail x1
  • Royal gramma
  • Ocellaris clownfish
  • White tail bristle tooth tang
  • Midas blenny
Can I PM you? I still have more questions about you and your tanks. :)

The Kansas City zoo by me has a tank with several hundred orange shoulder tangs. They are a pretty cool fish.

Sure you can pm me
